Exploring The Stargate Universe

A whole age group weeped for the end of Stargate SG:1 – debatedly the most excellent sci-fi saga in the history of television. With 10 terms under its belt, Stargate SG:1 is one of the longest operating sci-fi television programs ever, beating personalities in the arena such as Star Trek: The Next Generation and the original Twilight Zone.

But the legion of crowds that have enjoyed the program all through the years experience comfort in the truth that the program’s spin-off series, Stargate Atlantis, was still running.

That is, till such time when Stargate Atlantis was also pulled off the airing schedule, declaring the present 5th term as its last.

What should the multitudes of Stargate enthusiasts anticipate? Definitely, not another cartoon program based on the franchise, correct?

Here comes Stargate Universe, a new take on the TV program, notwithstanding one which will become apparent in similar world populated by humans and Goulds, among other tribes.

Stargate Universe, as many fans have observed, is really a blend of Stargate and Star Trek, two of the most well-known and most powerful science narrative franchises in the 20th century. Stargate Universe doesn’t exclusively revolve on the Stargates that have turned into the core of preceding television programs in the series, though the Stargates are still the focal aspects of the stories. Instead Stargate Universe uses a spaceship much like the U.S.S. Enterprise.

As the story continues, an olden ship launched by an old civilization has been unearthed. The spacevessel, which was named Destiny, was boarded by a group of travelers, specifically Colonel Everett Young, Tamara Jon, Chloe Carpenter, Eli Hitchcock, Lt. Jared Nash, and Ron “Psycho” Stasiak.

But Destiny has a pre-planned flight path, beyond the control of its group.

Thus, the spce vessel started its journey, bringing with it the team of explorers to fantastic stars to meet new friends and new foes, doing some indefinite assignments planned by the ancient civilization.

Is the Destiny designed to be a mechanism that will connect the universe, or a weapon that is designed to destroy it?

Surely, the dynamics of the franchise have been altered with the coming introduction of Stargate Universe. But as a Stargate viewer would say to you, a flower by any other label would smell just as fresh.

Even if that rose takes the shape of an intergalactic battle cruiser.
